Alfalfa was a character created by Hal Roach who produced the famous Our Gang (Little Rascals) series of short movies that was a smash hit from 1934 until it ended in 1944.

Alfalfa was played by Carl Dean Switzer, who had been discovered by Hal Roach after his parents took him to the movie studio and he had spontaneously jumped up onto a table in the cafeteria and began singing. This brilliant little entertainer who obviously knew how to impress a movie producer was only 6 years old when he landed his first starring role. America will not forget this cute kid with freckles, hair slicked back and parted straight down the middle with the strangest tuft of hair at the back of his part sticking straight up in the air. Take note, bobblehead collectors – there are only a small number of these remaining because they are not being manufactured anymore.

The Alfalfa bobblehead is made out of lightweight polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic, a thermoplastic polymer that is commonly used to make figurines because it can be molded into any shape and it is compatible with a wide variety of different paint finishes.
