Betty Boop is a cartoon character who made her first appearance in 1930 in "Dizzy Dishes", the 6th cartoon in Max Fleischer's classic black and white Talkartoon series of cartoons. With her overt sexual appeal, Betty was an immediate hit with audiences and she had become the star of the Talkartoons by 1932. The 1933 Betty Boop cartoon Snow White (not the same as Disney's movie Snow White) was selected for preservation by the U.S. Library of Congress in the National Film Registry in 1994, and she is still a very popular cartoon character in the 21st century.
