Dwight D. Eisenhower Bobblehead
Dwight David Eisenhower, better known as Ike to Americans during the 1950’s, was a five-star general in the U.S. Army, served as Supreme Commander of the Allied forces in Europe during World War II, and was the 34th President of the United States from 1953 until 1961. As President he increased resistance to the Soviet Union during the Cold War, launched the Space Race, expanded the Social Security program and initiated construction of the U.S. Interstate Highway System. President Eisenhower’s favorite recreational pastime was golf and the media seemed to always be publishing pictures of Ike enjoying himself on the golf course. The U.S. Air Force Academy has a 36-hole facility featuring the Blue and Silver courses at their Eisenhower Golf Club.
