In George Lucas’ Star Wars movies, the Jawas are short humanoid natives of the planet Tatooine. They were often scavengers who traded items they found in the deep deserts while traveling around in their huge sand crawler transports. A band of Jawas was responsible for locating C-3PO and R2-D2 and selling them to Luke Skywalker's uncle, Owen Lars. With their beady little lighted eyes, these creatures became immediately popular with Star Wars fans.
