Dick Dastardly from Hanna-Barbera's animated Wacky Races series and its spin-off, Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines, is a villain who tries to win things through cheating and trickery. Dick Dastardly’s race car named The Mean Machine features devious traps that he can use against his opponents. Wacky Races was inspired by the movie The Great Race and the Dastardly character was inspired by the movie’s villain, Professor Fate, who was played by the famous actor Jack Lemmon.
