In the animated TV series, Dexter's Laboratory, Dexter is a boy genius who has a secret laboratory hidden behind a bookshelf in his bedroom and a boy named Susan "Mandark" Astronominov is Dexter’s rival and arch-nemesis. Mandark often attempts to take credit for Dexter's achievements through fraud, lying or just by coincidence. Dexter's Laboratory ended its initial television run in 1999, and then it resumed production in 2000.
